On your first visit you will immediately be greeted by one of our friendly doctors. Your visit will start with a thorough history taken by one of the chiropractors and then a detailed chiropractic examination. The exam will consist of a combination of orthopedic and neurological testing, posture or gait analysis, range of motion assessment, palpation, and possible x-rays. X-rays are taken based on medical necessity. Not all patients will require x-rays and they are never mandatory. After your examination is complete, your doctor will sit down with you and discuss all of the findings from the tests and the x-rays. You will have a chance to go over you x-rays with the doctor and ask any questions. Most patients can immediately identify their misalignments on their x-rays and are surprised by how their spine looks. The chiropractor will explain all the results of the tests and give recommendations for treatment and go over your options. If your injury requires a referral to another specialist, one will be provided from our network of great doctors that work with us. Feel free to ask as many questions as you wish because Drs Collin and Alorna believe in an open team work mentality when it comes to treating back related issues. You can expect the first visit to last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. If you choose to receive treatment at the first visit it will take a little longer.

Chiropractic care is a lot like physical therapy in that it is broken up into sessions. Most of our patients feel immediate relief after the first visit but depending on how long your problem has been going on and its severity, it will most likely require more visits. In the beginning you will need to come in more frequently until the pain resolves and the situation is under control. Then, as your condition improves, your treatments space out until the injured area is stabilized. Many of our patients continue to receive routine maintenance care because they generally feel better after treatments and want to stay loose to avoid future injury but it is not required. Typical treatments normally last between 10 and 40 minutes and can be altered at any time if new problems arise.
